Hillsborough County, Fla. (Dec. 21, 2016) - Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandy Murman today joined local elected officials at Metropolitan Ministries' Heroes Day to volunteer and celebrate the holiday season with families in the community. Throughout the morning, Commissioner Murman and volunteers assisted in the donation lane, food or toy sorting, food or toy shopping with clients, hospitality, client check-in, and stocking stuffers.
"The tireless efforts of Metropolitan Ministries make an extraordinary difference in the lives of Hillsborough County families, especially during the holiday season," said Commissioner Murman. "It was an honor to work alongside so many dedicated volunteers at today's Heroes Day. It's so important and heartwarming to see the community come together to help our neighbors get back on their feet during difficult times."
